The weather--
Things are going to dry out!! Warm sunny weekend in the
70s and maybe event 80s, followed by 60's all week with a chance
of showers on Tuesday.
Before I get started with our
normal weekly list of events, I wanted to make a quick
announcement/invitation to all of our readers and subscribers...
The Swe Party 2007
Saturday, May 19 is the date for the annual Swe Party!
For those of you not familiar, we host a huge family-oriented
party in our backyard each spring. The party is a donation drive
for a different non-profit organization each year. We choose
charities that focus primarily on helping kids. It's a very
palpable way to show kids of all ages how they can make a
difference in the lives of others.
The theme this year is “Summer Camp” in honor of our featured
charity – Easter Seals Respite Camp. This camp, located at the
Wisconsin Elks Association campground in the Wisconsin Dells,
gives campers with special needs the ability to experience their
very own summer camp in an environment that is supportive of
their physical and/or cognitive limitations. We have personally
benefited from the services provided by Easter Seals and would
love to give back by providing them with many of the items they
need to accommodate campers throughout the year.
With that said we are turning our backyard into the best summer
camp site in town! Kids will enjoy camp crafts, games, food, and
a whole lot of fun! Adults, we didn’t forget about you either!
Our feature entertainment is a family bluegrass playin’, gospel
singin’, country crooning band. We’ll even have upscale camp
food for adult tastes (think chicken, brats, brie, salmon, and a
fine selection of adult beverages).
You are invited to join us!
Find the scoop on our personal website -
http://www.whatacoolfamily.com
Please RSVP online at the website above!
A list of recommended donation items can be found on our website
or on the
back page of this .pdf file.

Here's the scoop for Baby Stroller/Baby Joggers who want to do
the Crazyleg's Classic. BTW - The weather is going to be
perfect for this event, so go for it!!!
Crazylegs
service to walkers with strollers/babyjoggers
For the safety of all participants, we ask that all
strollers and babyjoggers line up BEHIND all other walkers.
As a service to Crazylegs participants, we will have a
stroller/babyjogger check and park area located just outside
the entrance to Camp Randall Stadium at Gate 1. No strollers
or babyjoggers will be allowed in the stadium. All
strollers/babyjoggers will be checked in and watched at all
times by Crazylegs staff so you may take part in the
post-race festivities without worrying about accidents and
injuries. Strollers/babyjoggers can be picked up as you exit
the stadium.
The Crazylegs
Classic 2 mile Fun Walk has grown in popularity every year since
its introduction. In 2006, there were over 4,500 Crazylegs
Classic registrants participating in the walk and we hope to
have even more in 2007.
The walk route includes the entire length of State Street and
much of the heart of the UW Campus. The 2007 Crazylegs Walk will
also feature UW and local celebrities walking right along with
you.
All walkers will line up on Martin Luther King Boulevard and
will start after the runners. Estimated start time is 10:10 A.M.
This time is based on the number of registered runners, so
please check the website before race day, or check for the
walker start time at packet pick-up.
Please note that the Capital Square and State Street will be
closed off, so you must plan an alternate route to the start
line.

If you have not taken your kids to a UW Women's Volleyball
game before, I would highly recommend it. Try to sit on the

kids can jump around and dance during time outs. Bring your
camera to get pictures of your kids with Bucky Badger!

The modern science of chemistry and the musical instrument of
the piano developed simultaneously. Both were invented in the
early 18th Century and both have undergone steady development
since then. In this session, several chemical ideas and chemists
will be introduced along with examples of contemporary piano
compositions and their composers. You will experience together
art and science that contributed to each other's environment.

With food, petting zoo, educational activities, Alice in
Dairyland, Prairie Thunder Cloggers and bluegrass music by the
Soggy Prairie Boys.
On April 22nd from 8am until noon at the Stock Pavilion on 1675
Linden Drive on the UW-Madison campus, the Association of Women
in Agriculture will be holding our 12th annual Breakfast on the
Farm event.
It is a public, family event open to the community and we really
would like everyone in the surrounding communities to be there
to help us celebrate great food with even better company. There
will be live entertainment, including the Soggy Prairie Boys,
which is a local bluegrass band, the Prairie Thunder Cloggers, a
petting zoo, education corral, and a visit from Alice in
Dairyland. The breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, sausage,
mushrooms, applesauce, ice cream, juice, milk, and coffee.
Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students, $4 for kids 5-12,
and $1 for children under 5. Our contact information for this
event is (608)-231-3702, and we also can be reached via email:
sdwyer2@wisc.edu and
blsacia@wisc.edu
respectively.
It is a lot of fun and a great event because it is one of those
well-hidden treasures. We had about 600 people in attendance
last year and are hoping for even more this year. It was great
to see all the smiling faces and meet people from all around the
community. It really is a great way for the community to immerse
themselves and celebrate in agriculture.
