This is my first week posting these online so I had better make it
good! This is Memorial Day weekend and many places are
starting up their summer seasons. It looks like it may be a
bit cool
and possibly wet this weekend, so pack a jacket just in
case...

It's the first evening of live music at Capital Brewery!
Pack a picnic for the family, picnic blanket, and toys for the
kids (the outdoor type that don't fly) and enjoy some great live
music. For those of you who are not familiar with the venue,
Capital Brewery is completely fenced in and family friendly.
It's great to get out and dance with the kids and enjoy some great
music.

Children's Museum is doing anything out of the ordinary for the
holiday weekend. Here's what they have planned: Saturday
10:30-11:30 - Bubble Science, 2:00-3:00 - Dry Ice Experiments,
Sunday 2:00-3:00 - Face painting.
Mad City Ski Team

The Mad City Ski Team
performs free ski shows every Sunday evening at Law Park, located
just in front of Monona Terrace on scenic Lake Monona. The 2004
State and National Show Ski Champions kick off their season on May
29.

Monday marks the 50th anniversary for the Madison area's largest
and longest running Memorial Day Parade. Parade entrants
include military color guards, clowns, marching bands, live
animals, fire trucks, scouts, floats, antique autos, local elected
officials, dance groups and much more. The 1.5 mile parade route
will start just past Monona Grove High School and travel south on
Monona Drive ending at Owen Road.

Join New Glarus in
celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a traditional,
family-oriented gathering. Children's activities include
entertainers and games with lots of prizes. A varied lineup of
bands play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Food concessions (beer,
brats, cheese curds) are available all weekend.

Brat Fest has moved to
the Alliant Energy Center. Looks like they have some live
bands performing throughout Brat Fest. I have no idea how
kid-friendly this will be.
